Develop confident athletes. Build a player-led program. Compete at a higher level.
LIFTT Athletics helps coaches, athletes, and parents develop confidence, navigate pressure, and create the conditions for high performance.
Led by Eric Thompson, our work connects mental performance, leadership development, and program alignment across sports, from club and high school to college and professional athletics.
You see the potential. We help you develop it.
You want athletes who trust their preparation when the pressure rises. Players who communicate, take ownership, and help teammates respond when things get difficult.
You want a staff that works together and a program where athletes understand their roles, see their development, and contribute to shared goals.
LIFTT helps you connect those pieces, strengthening both the people and the environment they compete within.
“I’ve seen LIFTT in action. Eric’s work builds leaders who last.”
“LIFTT is helping our students grow from the inside out.”
Build a program players help lead.
A player-led program takes more than naming captains or asking athletes to step up.
Athletes need opportunities to develop their leadership, along with the skills to manage themselves while positively influencing others. For players already carrying the pressure of performance, that capacity needs to be developed, not assumed.
Our Force Multiplier approach helps athletes practice leadership in everyday moments: resetting after mistakes, communicating honestly, supporting teammates, and holding the standard.
Coaches set the direction. Players learn to carry it together.
High standards. Conditions that help athletes meet them.
Growth requires effort, discomfort, and the willingness to work through resistance. Athletes need honest feedback and accountability, alongside relationships that help them stay engaged in that work.
The LIFTT Four gives coaches and teams a practical way to examine their environment:
- Safety
- Can I show up authentically, ask questions, and learn from mistakes without humiliation?
- Growth
- Do I understand what I’m developing and see evidence of progress?
- Trust
- Can we tell each other the truth, even when it’s difficult?
- Belonging
- Do I matter beyond my playing time and latest performance?
These conditions help athletes engage with challenge while remaining responsible for their choices and their impact on others.
Bring clarity to how your program operates.
Strong relationships need clear direction.
LIFTT helps programs define their identity, align program and season goals, clarify roles and responsibilities, and establish development priorities for staff and athletes.
We also help teams strengthen communication and manage energy, pressure, and momentum.
Support can include individual athlete development, coach development, Force Multiplier cohorts, team experiences, and ongoing program alignment. We start by understanding your program and what it needs next.
For college programs navigating change
NIL and the transfer portal add another layer to building a competitive roster and sustaining a program.
LIFTT helps coaches focus on the conditions they can influence: clear expectations, meaningful development, honest conversations about roles, staff alignment, and relationships that remain strong through competitive challenges.
No environment guarantees retention. You can give athletes meaningful reasons to grow and contribute within yours.

Meet the founder
Eric Thompson is a former D1 athlete and college coach who understands the emotional and competitive weight athletes and coaches carry. He’s worked with NCAA and professional athletes, NBA coaches, high school programs, and elite performers for over two decades.
Most recently, Eric worked directly with the University of Texas Longhorns Women’s Softball Team during their historic 2025 national title run.
Eric’s mission is to help individuals lead themselves from within, not just for the game, but for life.
Develop the person through the athlete.
We believe athletics is one of the most meaningful training grounds for leadership and life.
Through sport, people can discover their unique talents, connect to purpose, solve problems, and learn to contribute to something bigger than themselves.
That opportunity grows when emotional fluency becomes part of development: recognizing what we feel, understanding how it affects us, and choosing how we respond.
Those skills support performance today. They also shape how people lead, build relationships, and contribute to their communities long after the season ends.
What does your program need next?
More confident athletes? Stronger player leadership? A more aligned staff? A clearer approach to development?
Let’s talk about where your program is and what you want to build.
